Double glazing is the modern alternative to single glazing and has many benefits. Not only does double glazing keep your house warm it saves energy and helps reduce emissions meaning they are more cost effective! This is done typically by using low emissive glass as well either argon or krypton Gas in the cavity to improve insulation. Not only are double glazed units cost effective, better for the environment and fantastic insulators, but they also reduce noise levels significantly. Noise levels are reduced by the sound not being able to travel through the thicker materials and gas compared to single glazing. Meaning if you live next to a busy road, in the centre of a city or in a loud area double glazing will aid in eliminating such noises.

Leaded, Duplex and Georgian barred double-glazed units.
Not only can we replace standard double-glazed units, some businesses and houses have stick on lead strips to give the illusion that a window is multiple panes. This is also giving double glazed units a traditional, aged look and comes in a variety of designs.
Not only is this done using lead, but the same effect can also be achieved using duplex or Georgian bars which match your frame material such as wood or plastic (UVPC). Georgian bars are UVPC bar fitted within the sealed unit between two panes of glass, replicating a traditional ‘leaded’ window. Whereas Duplex Bars are manufactured using the same spacer bar colour and material as the perimeter of the frame, again internally fitted and used to replicate the multiple panes look. We can supply, and supply and install such double-glazed leaded and barred units for you.
In addition to leaded and duplex double-glazed units, we also restore leaded stained-glass panels, for more information please visit this link!
